Cylindrical Filter Basket

A cylindrical filter basket is a filtration component manufactured from stainless steel wedge wire or perforated plate, rolled into a cylindrical shape and welded along the seam. The basket is installed inside a filter housing, strainer, or vessel, where it captures solid particles from the fluid stream while allowing clean liquid to pass through. The basket is a serviceable component that can be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled multiple times. The construction provides high mechanical strength, good flow capacity, and effective particle retention. The basket can be configured with or without end plates, flanges, or mounting rings to match the installation requirements.

It is available in several construction types. Wedge wire construction uses V-shaped profile wires resistance-welded to a grid of support rods, creating continuous, uniform slots ranging from 0.02 mm to 10 mm. The V-shaped slot geometry prevents particles from wedging and allows for effective backwashing. Perforated plate construction uses stainless steel sheet with punched holes, providing high strength and impact resistance for coarse filtration applications. Composite construction combines a perforated support plate with a wedge wire or woven mesh lining for applications requiring both strength and fine filtration.

The basket material is selected based on the fluid being processed and the operating environment. Standard materials include stainless steel 304, 316, and 316L. These materials provide corrosion resistance for water, mild chemicals, and food applications. For more demanding environments, we offer 2205 duplex stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant alloys. The profile wire sizes commonly used include 0.75×1.5 mm, 1×2 mm, 1.5×3 mm, and 2×4 mm. The all-welded construction provides a rigid, durable structure that maintains its shape under pressure and mechanical stress.
